Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to join our team for a pharmaceutical client in Neuchatel. This role focuses on the automation of small molecule manufacturing processes in the field of fill and finish. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pharmaceutical automation, with a strong background in small molecule manufacturing and proficiency with Rockwell Automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for fill and finish processes in small molecule manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client requirements and develop tailored automation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, EMA, and other relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and optimize automation workflows, control systems, and instrumentation to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
- Perform system integration, testing, and validation of automated equipment and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues to ensure smooth and continuous operation of manufacturing processes.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including user requirements, functional specifications, and validation protocols.
- Provide training and support to client personnel on the use and maintenance of automated systems.
- Stay current with emerging automation technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements and innovations as appropriate.
- Participate in risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies related to automation systems.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in automation engineering within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in small molecule manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of fill and finish processes and the specific automation requirements for these areas.
- In-depth knowledge of GMP, FDA, EMA, and other relevant pharmaceutical industry standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in Rockwell Automation systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley PLCs, FactoryTalk, RSLogix).
- Proficiency in other automation software and tools, such as SCADA, DCS, and HMI systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with validation and qualification of automated systems is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel to client sites in Neuchatel as needed.
